Auf der Consumer-Elektronik-Messe CES in Las Vegas stellt Hercules mit dem DJControlWave seinen neuesten kabellosen DJ-Controller für das iPad vor. Via Bluetooth verbindet sich der flache, in einer Wellenform gehaltene, DJ-Controller mit dem iPad und läuft nebenbei noch im Akkubetrieb. Somit bleibt einem auch die Verkabelung eines zusätzlichen Netzteils erspart. Das äußerst schlanke Design mit einer glänzenden schwarzen Oberfläche hinterlässt einen  futuristischen Eindruck. Der Hercules DJControl Wave kann sowohl mit der kostenlosen DJuced App oder der DJuced 40° Software auf Mac und PC genutzt werden. Software und Controller bieten rudimentäre Steuermöglichkeiten im 2-Deckmodus.

Fazit

Die Idee einen Controller zu schaffen, den man nicht mehr verkabeln muss ist zwar nicht revolutionär, zeigt jedoch die Tendenz auf, dass bei Dj-Equipment im mobilen Einsatz (hauptsächlich Controller) noch einiges getan werden kann, um die Nutzung komfortabler zu gestalten. Einen Controller für das iPad zu haben scheint aktuell bei vielen Herstellern die Hoffnung zu wecken im Non-DJ-Markt neue Kunden zu gewinnen. Der DJControlWave zielt ebenfalls auf diese Käuferschaft. Ein ansprechendes Design, eine einfache Handhabung und ein attraktiver Preis sind gute Voraussetzungen um in diesem Marktsegment, in dem sich Hercules bestens auskennt, neue User zu finden. Für ca. 220.- Euro kann man den DJControlWave im Frühjahr 2014 erwerben. Damit ist er momentan einer der günstigsten iPad-Controller im DJ-Bereich. Persönlich erinnert mich das Aussehen des DJControlWave an den Pioneer DDJ-WeGo. Die rudimentäre Ausstattung und die Tatsache, dass man das Audio-Signal mit einem Splitterkabel in 2x Mono aus dem iPad holen muss, sind Kriterien, die fortgeschrittene DJs wohl eher abschrecken wird. Ob die Bluetooth-Verbindung störende Latenzen mit sich bringt und wie sich der DJControlWave in Sachen Verarbeitung und Haptik schlägt, kann man natürlich erst beurteilen, wenn man den Controller mal in der Hand gehabt hat. Die horizontal liegenden Pitchfader sind Geschmackssache und verlieren sowieso an Bedeutung sobald man mit der Auto-Sync-Funktion arbeitet. Für die kleine, spontane Party und zum Rumdaddeln zu Hause oder in einer Bar, birgt der DJControlWave sicherlich eine ordentliche Portion Fun.
